I have been with NLMUSD since 1999, and this is my 19th year in education. I am an alumni of Cal State University @ Fullerton [Bachelor's of Science degree in Psychology, with a minor in Early Childhood Education] and obtained my teaching credential from UCLA.
All of my teaching years have been in the lower elementary grades, with the concentration of those years [at both Dulles and Escalona Elementary Schools] having been in the second grade. I have also taught first and third grades, so I'm well acquainted with where your children have "come" from academically as well as how to get them where they need to "go"! I feel well-informed as to the developmental abilities of this age group and greatly enjoy watching them explore their world and delight in their learning and growth!
Prior to that (and what feels like "many moons" ago now...), I volunteered as a parent classroom-helper, held various PTA and Girl Scout Leader positions, and also taught some Sunday school... all activities that assisted me in my [then future] profession ...that of a teacher!
I have two truly wonderful daughters. My eldest daughter was married several summers ago on Aug. 2nd, completed her nursing studies and is currently working with a family physician in Rolling Hills. In the Spring of 2013, she and her husband brought their first beautiful baby into the world: Olivia! (also grandchild #1 for me!). Then Olivia was joined by sweet sister 'Ellie' {Elizabeth Grace} on October 15, 2015. My youngest daughter graduated from La Mirada High, graduated on May 15, 2015 from a Cal State University, and is now pursuing a career leading to her profession, along with planning her Spring wedding!
I always enjoy family time, and the company of friends when it's possible. I like a myriad of crafts, photography, home decor, baking, day~trips, puzzle~making, and {especially} Grand~girl time!!
